Our cabins are located in the beautiful Shellharbour region. There are many things to do enjoyed by both locals and tourists alike. Located 1.5 hours south of Sydney, and 20 minutes south of Wollongong, the Shellharbour region is bound by the Tasman Sea in the east, Lake Illawarra in the north, Illawarra escarpment in the west and Minnamurra River in the South. Please take the time to visit: · Bass Point Reserve—a popular spot for fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving and walking. · Killalea State Park—a park dedicated for recreation use. It features stunning views in all directions and the local beach, “The Farm” as it’s known, is very popular with the locals. · Macquarie Pass National Park—runs the Illawarra Hwy to the Southern Highlands and towers over the top of the Illawarra. The lush vegetation and waterfalls give way to excellent bushwalking and picnic areas. · Blackbutt Reserve—the largest natural reserve bush land in the Illawarra, there are various walking trails, picnic facilities with gas and wood BBQ’s, children’s playgrounds and amenities. · Minnamurra Rainforest—boardwalks and paved tracks take you around the rainforest floor and up through a range of rainforest environments. · Kiama Blowhole—come and see the spectacular plumes of water that can be seen when the seas are running from the south east. · Jamberoo Action Park—NSW biggest fun park, a great day out for the whole family. · Sea Cliff Bridge—starting at the Royal National Park, the drive takes you coastal rainforests, seaside towns, Wollongong, and down the South Coast. · Illawarra Regional Airport—come and watch the planes take off, have a coffee or lunch in the Aviators Lounge or take a scenic flight with NSW Air from the Sea Cliff Bridge down to the coast at Kiama. · Beaches—clean sandy beaches are perfect for surfing, swimming or watching the kids play in the waves. · Lake Illawarra—a wide range of water-sports such as fishing, boating, waterskiing etc. The foreshores provide picnic areas, playgrounds, boardwalks, walking tracks and a bike path around the lake. · Shellharbour Village—stroll down Addison Street, have a coffee, browse in the shops or paddle down at the harbour foreshore.
